EDUCATION 2.0 CONFERENCE DUBAI 2022

Mr Arangies and Mr Burger attended the 3 day Education 2.0 Conference in Dubai. The Education 2.0 Conference is a unique forum that unites emerging and established leaders in the realm of education. A total of 164 speakers presented in either panel discussions and/or keynote presentations during two tracks of the conference, totalling 48 sessions.

A diverse agenda covering important topics such as EdTech, experiential learning, developments in STEM-curriculum, the importance of soft skills training, inclusive teaching, digital literacy, educational changes after Covid-19 and many more were presented.

Mnre. Arangies en Burger was deel van ‘n paneelbespreking oor Strategieë om Digitale Vaardighede te verbeter. Mnr. Arangies het as moderator opgetree en Mnr. Burger was ‘n paneellid. Dit was ‘n voorreg om Laerskool Eversdal op internasionale vlak te verteenwoordig en te kon deel oor die onderrigstrategieë wat ons met gróót sukses toepas in Eversdal.

Dit is óók juis hierdie veranderingsbestuur oor die afgelope dekade waarvoor beide mnre. Arangies en Burger leierskapstoekennings ontvang het vir hul bydrae tot onderwys en leer.

It was evident that Eversdal has been working towards creating the right educational environment for the future. Engaging with educationalist of all over the world they could learn how different environments see how the future of education will evolve. Online learning through a blended flipped classroom approach was highly talked about throughout the conference.

Simply put, a blended learning approach involves learning online as well as in class, introducing concepts, media and reading materials to students electronically, anywhere and anytime. On the other hand, they use their time in the classroom to apply the concepts they have learned, complete interactive projects or engage in discussions and debates regarding the study material.

Die tipiese tradisionele klaskamer waar leerders sit, na ‘n lesing luister en hul werk by die huis as “huiswerk” voltooi, is nie meer die skool van die toekoms nie. Die fokus is om digitale materiaal op jou eie te bestudeer, op jou eie vlak mee te werk en met klasmaats te bespreek sodat verskillende opinies en/of oplossings gevind word, is die belangrikste strategie vir die toekoms. Die onderwyser bestuur die proses en gee ondersteuning waar nodig.
