By wearing mismatched socks to school we show our support and raise awareness for the mental well-being of healthcare practitioners and supporting doctors. The immense pressure and trauma in which our health practitioners have to perform their daily jobs, have caused immense stress, anxiety and long working hours.
#CS4D started in Australia in 2017. Dr Geoff Toogood experienced severe trauma and depression and, as a doctor, he was not allowed to speak about his own mental well-being. In South Africa, an organization called Ithemba contacted Dr Toogood and started the campaign for awareness in 2018.
